Softwareentwicklung wird bei LCM auf zwei Ebenen betrieben: Zum Einen wird Software als integrativer Bestandteil von mechatronischen Systemen im Sinne eines Echtzeitsystems oder für die Mensch-Maschine-Interaktion entwickelt. Zum Anderen ermöglicht die LCM eigene Simulationssoftware die Lösung von komplexen Aufgabenstellungen, dort wo kommerzielle Software-Tools an ihre Grenzen stoßen.
